Path Of Purpose

In many circumstances we are quick to question God instead of trust him. For instance: How many times have you asked “why” in the midst of a difficult or painful situation? During the present moment, things may be uncomfortable, even incomprehensible, however, take heart. Take comfort in knowing that God is good, all the time.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

He makes a masterpiece out of your mess. The same God who crafted the wonders of the universe, the earth, the sky and the waters, he crafted you. But, he doesn’t stop there. He brings all his work to completion. Consider this: you are a wonderful work in progress. God is not finished with you yet.

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (Ephesians 2:10)

Do you believe you are just here by chance with no significance? Or do you believe there must be more to life than this? From the time you were in your mother’s womb, God knew you, called you and loved you. He is the father of your father and a father to the fatherless. It is no accident or coincidence you are here today.

“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will – to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.” (Ephesians 1:4-6)

Each breath you take, each step you take, is all apart of the plan. God will lead you to exactly where you need to be, however, you must be in alignment with His will. You have the power of choice, apart from that, you are pretty much powerless. You can walk alongside with your heavenly father, or live in disobedience. Of course, each action has a consequence and an outcome, to you and to those around you.

“Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.” (Luke 13:4-5)

Sin is the result of disobedience to our father, and he weighs all sin equal. We are all guilty.

“Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.” (1 John 3:15)

Just like you, I believed I was a good person. That all changed when He showed me exactly how guilty I was and what I deserved for my actions.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)

This is grace. Not only was I headed to physical death, I realized I was spiritually dead inside. The things I once thought were good for me, were the very things destroying me. You see, sometimes God will allow us to do whatever we want in order for us to learn and restore us back to him, where we belong.

“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” (1 Peter 5:6)

He is never too far away. Do you hear his voice today? Run to him, not from him. It doesn’t matter where you are, what you’ve done, he is right there, waiting to get you on the path you were meant to walk on. Let him redirect you. He has a purpose for your life, will you trust him? Or will you question him?

“In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:6)
