Child Of God (Prayer)

You’re probably wondering why I posted a picture of candy regarding prayer, but continue reading and you will understand.

Pray, have faith & be patient šŸŒ»

Let’s pause & talk about prayer for a moment.

Not to burst your bubble, but God isn’t some magic genie for us to just demand things from. He works according to his plan & for all the right reasons.

Say you are a child (metaphorically speaking of reasonable age) you asked your parents to buy you some candy, but had no relationship with them or listened to anything they said. The only time you spoke to them or were nice was when you wanted something.

Why should you approach them with confidence asking such a thing? (Lol kids do this all the time but stick to the story šŸ˜‚) Isn’t that a selfish thing to do? What about how they feel?

With good parenting children begin to learn this concept of having a healthy relationship towards their family and what respect looks like. Likewise, we are children of God.. it’s important to have a healthy relationship with our Father in heaven.

Before you demand your “candy” from Him, examine your relationship with him. Is this his will for my life? Or am I being selfish? God isn’t going to throw a brand new Benz at you just because you ask.

Where is your heart? Do you truly love God and trust everything he does is for your own benefit?

“When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.” (James 4:3)

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” (1 John 5:14)
